We had the opportunity to host the University of Cape Town in January 2023 and provide first-rated conference interpreting and translation services. To put it mildly, the opportunity for us as a language service provider to offer our prestigious services to one of the top universities in South Africa was enormous.
As you are aware, every conference experience setback, but in this case, everything went according to plan because we had already started the back-and-forth negotiations, revised quotes, and sending of business documents to prove our suitability for the job. We were able to secure the contract to offer conference interpreting and translation services to UCT (university of Cape town), but only after protracted negotiations and compromise.
We were prepared to offer the best document translation and conference interpreting services to our clients. We provided Amharic, Swahili, and French interpreting services, as well as French translation for all the materials that the UCT delegates and interpreters would use.
It wouldn’t have been possible without the committed team of employees who devoted their working hours and after work hours to ensure everything goes smoothly, including booking the best interpreters, accommodations, flight tickets, food, and transportation to and from the venue.
We finally assembled a team of interpreters to give UCT the best service possible. This service was provided over the course of four consecutive days, and each day was a success thanks to the beautifully translated conference materials, our interpreters giving their best simultaneous interpretations and the delegates using the provided equipment provided by us. Although we braced ourselves for hiccups and did hold our breath, we crossed our fingers that everything would go according to plan.
Finally, after overcoming the challenging days, we could unwind on the last day. We would like to express our gratitude to The University of Cape Town for giving us the opportunity to host this conference, and we look forward to developing many more business relationships.
